In order to present files as part of your portfolio, they need to be uploaded to the Artifact Library first of all. This a central storage space that holds the files you upload and, once you've added them to your portfolio, means they can be shared in a portfolio whenever you want. Move your mouse over the image below to get help.
Artifact Folders
In order to keep track of artifacts in your library, you may have to create folders to store them in. The folders could be arranged by the type of file they hold (video files, text files, etc), by course, by submission month, or whatever you want.
You can control the order artifacts are displayed within a folder, or move a folder or artifact into an entirely different folder. None of these commands has any effect on your ability to display an artifact in your portfolio- Move commands just make it easier to find what you want to in the Artifact Library.
When you click on a folder, the artifacts in it are listed at the bottom of the page.
Search Artifacts
If you're not sure where in your Artifact Library you stored a particular artifact, you can search for it by either name, or date.
Search for it by name Put a name in the search box, and the search results are listed below.
Search by date Enter a date range within which you uploaded your artifact.
Artifacts List
Once you artifacts have been uploaded to the library, you have various other controls to help you organize files:
View Artifact Opens the artifact, so you can see it.
Delete After checking with you, this permanently removes a folder or image from your online account.
Rename Change the name of a folder or image.
Move Artifact Lets you put this artifact somewhere else in the library. Use this to move something to another folder.
Change Will replace an existing artifact with a new file, so that you can update your work without having to re-link artifacts to your portfolio. If you want to update an existing artifact, you should use Change Artifact, instead of Add Artifact. Change Artifact will replace the old file with a new, updated one.
Move Up & Down Moves an artifact up or down within the list in a particular folder.
Adding Artifacts
Add Artifact Add a new file that you can link to your portfolio. Using Add Artifact will give you both the new, updated file and keep the old file stored in your Artifact Library- even if they have the same filename on your computer. If you want to update an existing artifact, you should use Change Artifact, instead of Add Artifact. Change Artifact will replace the old file with a new, updated one.
Upload Zip of Artifacts Use this to upload several files in one go, after first zipping them into one file on your computer. If the files in your zipped folder have the same name as artifacts already in your library, those being uploaded will not overwrite the existing artifacts- they will be stored in addition to the existing files, even if they have the same name. If you want to update an existing artifact (rather than keeping the old version), you should update them individually, using Change Artifact.
Add URL Let's you store a URL of a web site that you can add to your portfolio as an artifact.
