MY PORTFOLIOS PAGE - Share Your Portfolio

How to share your portfolio, including; creating a secure Url for Internet access, and sharing with ePortfolio users.

When you've added content to your portfolio, the Share Page link then appears at the bottom of the page you are editing. Use this link to decide how other people see your work:

On the Share Portfolio Page, you will see the following:

• Share with Secure Url - Click OK to share this page. You will be asked for more details.
• All Secure Url's - If you have previously shared part of your portfolio, the secure link to it will be listed here. You can stop access to your portfolio by clicking Delete Url . It doesn't delete the page, just makes sure no one can see it by typing in the Url you have previously created.
• Share With Registered Users - If you want to show your work to other ePortfolio users, use this option.

Secure Url Sharing on the Internet

To create a link that can (if you allow) be seen from anywhere on the Internet, click OK, next to Share with Secure Url. You will then have three choices about what you want to share:

• Share this page and all pages under it.
• Share the whole portfolio.
• Select pages to be shared- after clicking OK again, you will then be given a chance to choose which pages to share.

Once you have chosen what you want to share, you must decide how long you want the Url to work, and whether or not to secure it with a password.

• Expiry date - Once the date you set is reached, the link will no longer work. If your account hasn't expired, you'll still be able to edit your portfolio, but you'll have to share it again if you want others to see it- so make sure you set a sensible expiry date.
• Password - If you add a password, that password will be required in order to view your portfolio. Your pages become private between you and whoever you choose to share the Url and the password with. When you use a password, search engines cannot index your portfolio even if you make the Url publicly available.

Sharing with other ePortfolio users

To share your portfolio with other ePortfolio users, go to the bottom of the Share Page and click Create New Group to add users that you want to share with:

Give your share group a name. If you choose a department from the dropdown list (and click OK next to it), all the members of that department are listed in the Users box below:

You can manually add to and delete any users from this list in order to build up a set of people that you wish to share your portfolio with. If you add any names that aren't recognized by the system, you are told so and they are left out of your group.

When you've a complete list of people that you want to share with, click OK, and then choose to share with that group by clicking OK again, as shown below:

You will then have three choices about what you want to share:

• Share this page and all pages under it.
• Share the whole portfolio.
• Select pages to be shared- after clicking OK again, you will then be given a chance to choose which pages to share.

After setting those options, you portfolio is then shared with the group you choose. To change any of the sharing options, or to stop sharing, choose Edit or Delete next to this group:

The people in this group will see a link to your portfolio at the bottom of the My Portfolio page:
