My Assessment Page: Student & Advisor Groups

Groups let you view and compare results for a number of specified students in one place. If you have an Advisor Group, you can also see results that a student has obtained by assessors other than yourself.

In the above group, you can see how many submissions a student has made, and how many of these have been partially and completely assessed. You can get more detail by clicking the View icon, or remove the student from this list by clicking Delete.

To create a new group, go to My Assessments Tab and click the link below the listed groups:

Whether you're adding a new group, or editing an existing one, you will see a screen like the one below:

The following options exist:

  • Group Name- Give your group a name to distinguish it from the others.
  • Group Type- If you make your group an Advisor Group, you can see previous and outstanding assessments for a group that have been carried out by any assessor, not just you. This check box may not be available if the administrator hasn't set this policy option.
  • Student Names- Paste a list of names into the text box. ePortfolio will attempt to match these to student accounts, and any matches that are unresolved are displayed in a second screen. You can also delete any existing names, and the changes will be reflected in the group when you click OK.
  • Select Students Using Checkboxes- Provides a list of student names . You can check next to names you want in groups, and uncheck those that you don't. This method is best if you don't have many students to choose from, and isn't recommended with large numbers of students as the list will be big and difficult to manage.

Unresolved Names

Any unmatched names will be listed. These are ambiguous names that need more information before ePortfolio can identify them. Here are some things you can try to match names correctly:

  • Make sure that the names are fully spelled out, and that there is no spelling mistakes.
  • If the persons last name is listed first, don't forget to put a comma in after it.
