Editing your Portfolio

Here you can add content to your portfolio, submit it for assessment, share it with people, or check assessments and comments made on it.

Portfolio Details

  • Edit Details Clicking the 'Edit Details' link takes you to the 'Edit Portfolio' page. Here you may rename the Portfolio, change the 'Table of Contents,' and change the 'Theme.'
  • Exit The 'Exit' button returns you to the main 'Portfolio' screen.
  • Information At the top of each page (only when editing your portfolio) you can see this information:
    • Portfolio Name- The name that people will see at the top of your portfolio pages.
    • Theme- The Theme you have chosen that determines what the overall look of the portfolio will be. The theme changes where the menus and links are displayed, as well as the colors that contribute your portfolios special look. You can change the theme later, if you want.

Portfolio Content

  • Edit Tools The Edit Tools that appear above the paragraphs in your portfolio are only visible when you edit your portfolio, and will not be seen by anyone you have shared your portfolio with. They let you edit existing paragraphs, change text, font color or pictures. You can also move paragraphs up and down within your portfolio.
  • Text Paragraphs Text can be added from the Add Content link at the bottom of the page and edited later with the Edit icon. The optional Rich Text Editor can be enabled or disabled at anytime from the 'My Profiles' screen.
  • Images Images can be added from the Add Content link at the bottom of the page and edited later with the Edit Image icon.
  • Portfolio Sections Navigation of the ePortfolio is provided by the section links in the Table of Contents. Each link directs you to page with the corresponding section heading. Faculty assessors have access to only those sections of your ePortfolio that you have submitted to them for assessment.

  • Add Content From this link you can build up multiple text passages, add images, artifacts, internet links, or links to other places in your portfolio. All this is done in a similar way, by clicking the Add Content link at the bottom of each page.
  • Add Page If your university allows you, you can also add you own pages in addition to the structure they require. You may name your new page on the 'Add Page' screen.
  • Share Page There are three options under the 'Share Page' link. You may share with a predefined group of system users; share with an individual system user; or make the portfolio or portions of the portfolio available on a secure web site for a specified length of time. This last option can require a password or not, depending upon your preference.
  • Portfolio Preferences On the 'Portfolio Preferences' page you may choose the 'Banner' image, text style for the Navigation Bar, the Text Style for the page and Background image for the text, the Page Background Image, and the options for the Footer.
  • Submit Assessment The 'Submit Assessment' option is available to those sections of the ePortfolio that have rubrics attached. If you don't see this link, you may not be on a page that can be assessed- check you're on a page that the university has created for you, and check you're on the right page for this assessment.
