On the ‘My Portfolios’ page, click the ‘Download’ link in the Actions drop down menu, to the right of the portfolio that you want to download. [1]
In the ‘File Download’ dialog box click ‘Save’. Save the downloaded portfolio as a ‘Compressed Zipped Folder’ in the ‘Save as Type’ textbox. Save your file to a location you will remember. [3]
When the download is complete, click ‘Open’. [4]
Highlight the Zip folder and click the ‘Extract all files’ link. [5]
Note: This file extraction example is the method used in the Windows XP operating system. If you have a different operating system, or are using a different zip file extraction program, these steps may vary slightly. On the ‘Extraction Wizard’ screen click ‘Next’. [6]
It is unwise to change the download destination folder, unless you have advanced computer skills.[7]
Highlight the Zip folder, and choose ‘Extract All’ from the File drop down menu. [8]
Be sure that the ‘Show extracted files’ box is checked. [10]
Click ‘Finish’ to complete the extraction process. [11] Double-click the extracted portfolio folder to open it. [12]
To view the downloaded portfolio, double - click the ‘Index’ file. [13] You are now on your portfolio homepage. Your entire downloaded portfolio is now accessible by clicking the links on the navigation panel.
To distribute your eportfolio to a third party, move or copy the extracted portfolio folder to an external storage drive or a writeable CD. Include instructions to double-click the ‘Index’ file to open the eportfolio homepage.
